“Guess The Grape” The Society’s signature fundraising event on October 15, 2011 at Patty Long’s River Bottom Saloon, 112 Sidney Street, St. Louis, MO 63104. A certified wine sommelier will lead guests through a blind tasting (6 wines total- guests not knowing what wine they are tasting until after the flight). Each flight will be paired with a chef’s special selection that has been specifically matched with the wines, three courses in all, six wines to taste.
Formerly the site of the A.E. Schmidt billiards factory, the River Bottom Saloon building dates from 1847 and stands on the original banks of the Mississippi River. After dinner and the blind tasting, challenge your friends to a game of shuffleboard, ping pong, air hockey or dance to live music by Jasha & The Sixty Minute Men. This year’s event will also feature a small silent and live auction, which highlights a one-week stay in a three bedroom villa in the US Virgin Islands.
Join us for an educational, enlightening, surprising, and humbling event to benefit the Society for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
