Congratulations is in order for two close friends of the Society! Alice Conway, a longtime member of our Board of Directors was nominated by a peer for the Missouri Lawyers Weekly Women’s Justice Award and will be receiving their Enterprise Award at a luncheon Thursday, April 24th. This honor recognizes women in the business setting, be they entrepreneurs, executives, corporate counsel, or other business professionals, who make a positive difference to the legal professional and the quality of justice.
Additionally, the father of Sierra Gregg, who we honored at the Visionary Gala last year with a Student of Achievement Award, called to let us know that Sierra is graduating in May from Truman Statue University. The is Valedictorian of her class and will be honored by her academic department with a special award/recognition as the number one student in Math & Computer Science. Sierra will be attending the University of Illinois for graduate work in Information & Library Science. To paraphrase what Mr. Gregg said in his conversation, Sierra is an example of what people can do if they reach for goals and don’t let others talk about what someone can’t do if they have a vision problem.
I know you all join me on congratulating both Alice & Sierra, both of whom are role models for so many, both those of us with sight and all those who are blind or visually impaired.
