VisionServe Alliance, the national organization for agencies around the country who serve individuals who are blind and visually impaired, has awarded a $550 stipend to Society Low Vision Therapist Karly Angeli to support her efforts towards National Certification as a Vision Rehabilitation Therapist. As well as working towards her certification as a Vision Rehabilitation Therapist, Mrs. Angeli recently received her national certification as a Certified Low Vision Therapist through the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals. Each certification requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and 350 hours of internship before being eligible to take the national certification examination.
Society President David Ekin is shown presenting the $550 check to Ms. Angeli. In making the presentation Mr. Ekin stated “this demonstrates both Mrs. Angeli’s expertise and knowledge as well as our national organization’s recognition of the value and importance of the services the Society provides.”
