EXPLANATION:
The calendar has a
day, work week, week and month views. Using the virtual viewer, by pressing
insert f1, will help you get familiar with those commands; plus there are other
commands there. Some of these commands are also in the view menu. Control 2
opens the calendar. Work week or week views are recommended for adding
appointments and this lesson is based on that (work week view is control alt
2). Up and down arrows are used to move to the different times in the day, left
and right arrows are used to move to different days. Time slots are ½ hour
periods. Press enter on a time slot and you will be able to write an
appointment in. Once an appointment has been entered, you navigate to different
appointments with the tab and shift tab keys. To add more detail to an
appointment use the application key and choose new appointment and press enter.
That opens an appointment window. You can tab through items in that window to
add a subject, location, start and end times…. There are also reading keys with
JAWS to read start time, end time, subject.... For example, alt 1 reads the
start date, alt 2 reads the start time. Press alt s to save an appointment. If
you have an appointment that will occur several times, you can create a
recurring appointment by pressing the application key and arrow down to new
recurring appointment. You can go to a specific date with control g.
