BASIC EMAIL 2

 

TERMS AND DEFINITIONS:

REPLY: responding to the person that sent you the email

FORWARD: sending the email to another person

 

KEYS YOU WILL NEED TO KNOW:

Windows keys: control r, control f, control n, control s

Screen reader keys: no new keys

 

EXPLANATION:

1)     To reply to an email press control r. This should put you in the edit field and you can simply type your message. By default the original message is at the bottom of the edit field. When you are done typing your message press control s to send it.

2)     To forward an email press control f. This puts your cursor in the ‘To’ field so that you can type an email address of the person or people you want to send the email to. At this point you can begin typing a name or email address of a person you have in your contact list. Once you hear the screen reader speak the complete email address you can press enter. You can continue to add multiple address in the ‘To’ field. Once you are done with that press tab which takes you to the ‘CC’ field where you can also type in email addresses. The CC stands for Carbon Copy. Tab till you reach the edit field and type your message. Press alt s to send the email.

3)     To create a new message press control n. This puts your cursor in the ‘To’ field. Type in an address and tab to the fields that follow and put in the appropriate information. You will also need to type in a subject in the subject field. Tab once after the subject field and you will be in the edit field to type your message. Press alt s to send your message.
