EXPLANATION:
When you access a web
site such as http://www.slsbvi.org, the first page you get is the home page of
that site. As you read a web page you will come across links. The screen reader
will say link along with the name of the link. You can press enter on a link. Pressing
enter activates that link and gets the web page that link references. To go
back to the page you were just on you would press alt left arrow or the
backspace key. Pressing insert f7 generates a links list in which you can
navigate to the link you want with arrow keys and press enter to activate. As
you visit different web pages by using the links or by typing in an address you
will create a history list. This list can be viewed by pressing ctrl + h which
you would navigate with the arrow keys. The history list is closed using the
escape key (sometimes you need to press control h to close the history list). Headings
have levels 1 through 6. When reading a web page, JAWS will announce that it is
a heading and the heading level. You can quickly navigate headings by pressing
h. When you want to save a web page for easy later retrieval, you would save it
in favorites. You need to open the favorites menu and arrow to add to favorites
and press enter. Pressing alt a is the fast way to open the favorites menu. To
retrieve that web page you would open the favorites menu and arrow to the web page
in the list and press enter.
