KEYS YOU WILL NEED TO KNOW:

Windows: f2

EXPLANATION:

This lesson itself may need several sessions of class time.

Windows Explorer is the program where you can see all the files and folders on your computer. You can also delete, rename, copy, move and paste files and folders. You can also create new folders in Windows Explorer. Creating a folder is done in the tree view. To create a new folder you would press alt f for the file menu, arrow down to new, right arrow to new, press enter, type a name and press enter. If you don’t type a name and press enter, the name will be New Folder. An alternative way to create a folder is to press the application key and then follow the same process as above. To delete a folder or file you would put focus on the item, press the delete key and press the space bar to confirm that you want it deleted. Copying or moving a folder or file starts at the folder view list view. Select the item you want to copy with control c or move it with control x and navigate to the folder you want to paste it in with control v using the tree view. Renaming can be done in the tree view or the folder view list view. Select the file or folder you want to rename, press f2, type in the new name and press enter.
