TERMS AND
DEFINITIONS:
VIRTUAL VIEWER: a
window that is generated when f1 is pressed that offers some help with programs
in relation to JAWS
MANUAL: a program that
lists and explains help topics of a program
INTERFACE: the Jaws
window or the window used to interact with the JAWS program
EXPAND: another term
describing to open a folder
COLLAPSE: another
term describing to close a folder

Jaws: insert f1
EXPLANATION:
The Jaws program can
offer help in many programs that you work with. Pressing insert f1 will
generate a virtual viewer that can be read with a screen reader’s standard
reading keys. If there is a help topic for that program the virtual viewer can
access it. If there is no help topic then the virtual viewer will say so.
Pressing escape closes the virtual viewer. Pressing insert f1 twice quickly
opens the JAWS help manual to the topic that relates to that program. That
manual can be opened through the Jaws interface as well by navigating to the
help menu with alt h, pressing down arrow to Jaws help topics and pressing
enter or by pressing f1. There are two window panes in the manual. The left
side contains the help topics and the right side has the information about the
topics. You use f6 to go between the window panes. The main topics are
presented as books that can be opened and closed. You can open and close books
with the right and left arrow keys. Once open you can arrow down to hear the
topics in the book. Then you would press enter on the topic you want. Then you
press f6 to access the other window pane and begin reading the information about
that topic. The manual also has three other ways of searching for topics
presented as paged tabs that you can access with control tab.

press enter. If there is not any information about your term, JAWS says that.
If there is then you tab twice to get to the topics

page tab you needs to open the manual from the Jaws interface.

press f1
15) Press control tab to
glossary
16) Then you navigate the
term list box with the up and down arrow keys
